As a #sponsor of the #louvre, #ds Automobiles contributed to Bouchardon (1698–1762). A Sublime Idea of Beauty. This exhibition celebrating a French artist with an audacious and forward-looking perspective, considered to be the “driving force of artistic renewal”. An avant-garde artist who simply couldn’t leave the #ds brand cold!
Tomorrow is the grand opening of the exhibition Bouchardon (1698–1762). A Sublime Idea of Beauty, a major #event in the #louvre Museum's autumn programme. The #louvre and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles pay homage to a man considered in his time as “the greatest sculptor and best draftsman of his century” (CN Cochin). This impressive exhibition will run from 14 September to 5 December 2016 in Paris, then from 10 January to 4 April 2017 in Los Angeles.
A patron of the #louvre since 2015 and particularly drawn to the avant-garde spirit of Ieoh Ming Pei's pyramid, #ds Automobiles renewed its relationship with the museum by supporting the new exhibition, which opens tomorrow. The public can view Bouchardon (1698–1762). A Sublime Idea of Beauty in the Hall Napoléon, under the #louvre pyramid.
The impressive exhibition will celebrate this exceptional artist, one of Europe's finest sculptors and considered among the most creative and fascinating artists of the 18th century. The programme will showcase his range of talent (drawing, sculpture, medals, engraving) and the different techniques he used (crayon, red chalk, plaster, wax, bronze, etc.), highlighting the work of this often underrated French artist.
Yves Bonnefont, Managing Director of the #ds brand, said, “Edme Bouchardon and his audacious perspective, the #louvre and its iconic pyramid, #ds and its avant-garde spirit—they all share an ambition to offer the world a new way of looking at things. They have a modern vision that puts detail and innovation at the heart of the creative process.” And he added: “Born in Paris, DS Automobiles seeks to embody the French know-how of luxury in its cars. We are proud to support the #louvre as it unveils the masterly works of the ‘driving force of artistic renewal’.”
The exhibition will run until Monday 5 December 2016 at the #louvre, then from 10 January to 4 April 2017 at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
