World #design Week Asia invites the cities of Beijing and Tokyo to present the thematic exhibition World #design Weeks Asia In Milan, at La #triennale di #milano.
The exhibition will be hosted by World #design Weeks ASIA and #triennale di #milano, co-organized by Beijing #design Week and by Tokyo #design Week, and is supported by the Sino European Innovation Institute.
The exhibition houses two different displays: the presentation of the World Flowers project, dedicated to the city of Tokyo, as its opening, and the #design exhibition Harmony with Nature, on Beijing.
WDW ASIA invited Japan’s popular interactive media art group NAKED to develop their project.
Naked previously created some critically acclaimed works such as Tokyo Art City and Flowers.
As for the World Flowers project, the group created an interactive multimedia artistic project, which includes an introduction to the World #design Week network and tells #design stories of the urban space, unveiling the unique features of the #design cities.
The exhibition Harmony with Nature is curated by Professor Xu Ping and Professor Lin Cunzhen from China Central Academy of Fine Arts, who were also medal and logo designers for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The exhibition starts from perspectives and experiences of contemporary China and explores possibilities and approaches of practicing Harmony with Nature in everyday life. The exhibition advocates designers taking responsibility, strives to remove over-design, and discusses the rational and effective use of cultural and hi-tech resources.
