CUPRA showcases its creativity at the 2023 Sitges Film Festival

• The #cupra DarkRebel, the brand’s new showcar, will take centre stage in the festival’s key visual
• Attendees will have the chance to enjoy a specially created VR experience

As official #automotive Partner of the #sitgesfilmfestival, #cupra will be present at this year’s #event with a wide number of activities for attendees. The festival will take place on 5-15 October 2023 and will welcome guests from the world of cinema, alongside thousands of loyal fans.

CUPRA's partnership with the festival reaffirms its commitment to inspire and push boundaries. To that end, the brand will be providing its range of cars for transport at the #event and will give attendees the chance to take part in an exclusive VR experience, which will take them on a journey through a fantasy world concluding with a #cupra Party DJ set.

The event’s key visual features the #cupra DarkRebel, a new showcar that is the result of a collaboration with the #cupra Tribe through the brand’s virtual Hyper Configurator. More than 270,000 configurations helped shape the design of the vehicle, which was revealed last month at the IAA in Munich. The #cupra DarkRebel represents the brand’s uncompromising approach to exploring ‘what’s hidden in the dark’, a message that aligns with the festival’s aim to highlight the genre of fantasy cinema in all its different forms.

The festival, which this year celebrates its 56^th edition, is the world’s most important cinematic showcase dedicated to fantasy and horror cinema. J.A. Bayona, the celebrated director of movies like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Society of the Snow, will receive this year’s Career Award.

In July, #cupra announced its two-year sponsorship of the film festival, located just south of its hometown of Barcelona. Through this partnership, #cupra aims to promote the #event and contribute to the growth and recognition of a cinematic genre often based on disruption and creativity.
