DANIEL BUREN ' Aux Beaux Carrés : travaux in situ ' With the kind support of Galleria Continua - Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche

For this year's Carte Blanche, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche invites Daniel Buren to intervene in its spaces. With the kind support of Galleria Continua, the internationally recognised French artist presents "Aux Beaux Carrés: in situ works", an exhibition in two Acts that sees the artist play with the square shape, inspired by the tiles of Bon Marché's famous glass roof.

Act I, from 9 January to 18 February 2024, Daniel Buren will take over the department stores with several pieces designed specifically for the site: two monumental works in situ under the central glass roofs, two Cabanes éclatées on the second floor, a work in situ in the central escalator and others on the shop windows in the rue de Sèvres.

Act II, from 29 June to 15 August 2024, Daniel Buren will concentrate on the two central atriums and the window displays on rue de Sèvres. He will be exhibiting new works, always based on the square.

It will be a large scale, two-part project, based on a play of shapes, movements, colours and light.
