'THOMAS JEFFERSON AND PALLADIUM. How to build a new world' in Vicenza, Palladio Museum

Press release available only in Italian

The exhibition welcomes us with a mirror, which reflected the bust of Palladio and that of Thomas Jefferson. It is the first question of the show: how to reflect the forms and ideas? Why an architect of a peripheral region of Northern Italy is taken as a model to build the architecture of the New World? The answer is connected to the question: what's he doing in a museum of architecture #thomasjefferson (1743-1826), who wrote materially the Declaration of Independence and was the third president of the USA? Because there was the American who more than any other helped to put a face to the new nation through art, architecture and design of the territory. It was a visionary but also a pragmatist, a man of action and set an intellectual who knew Latin and the greek and it was convinced that the New World could be built only through rationality and beauty.
