Press conference on 5 october at 11:00: Dineo Seshee Raisibe Bopape

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

In preparation for her exhibition, #dineosesheeraisibebopape spent time in the rural municipality of Hämeenkyrö, Finland, engaging with the joy of being with the lakes, the landscape, the healers of the region and healing herbs. All of this had a significant impact on the exhibition. The installation in the Museum of #contemporaryart Kiasma turns the entire fifth-floor gallery into a scented arena. You are cordially invited to attend the press conference on Thursday October 5 at 11:00 in Kiasma. Please register: kiira.koskela@kiasma.fi

Dineo Seshee Raisibe Bopape in Hämeenkyrö, Finland. Frantsila / Miki Tokairin / Miisa Soini

Bopape went on several field trips in Finland when she was preparing the #show. During her stay in Hämeenkyrö, Bopape worked with experts on the Frantsila organic herb farm developing a fragrance and a tea blend for the exhibition that features dream-supporting herbs such as heather and hops.

(ka) pheko ye – the dream to come draws upon the idea of dreaming as an activity that is common to all beings and allows one to connect with various timelines. The exhibition continues Bopape's exploration of healing and re-membering. This is the award-winning artist's first solo exhibition in the Nordic countries.

The exhibition is curated by João Laia, chief curator of temporary exhibitions at Kiasma. It is produced in collaboration with Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich.

The press conference will be held in Finnish and English.
