Fiat brand, together with Lapo Elkann and Garage Italia Customs, sponsors AIDS research

The New 500 will be the star of the charity event organised by the 'amfAR' in Milan: all proceeds will be donated to AIDS research. The donated car will be auctioned off and personalised by Lapo Elkann's Garage Italia Customs.

The 'amfAR' gala will be staged on September 26 in the splendid setting of the Teatro della Permanente in via Turati 34 in Milan and will close the Milan Fashion Week. By identifying the critical gaps in HIV and AIDS knowledge and supporting innovative studies, including those which often do not have the preliminary data required by more traditional sponsors, 'amfAR' plays a key role in AIDS research.

FCA has always been committed to sponsoring social and scientific projects and will support the foundation with the New 500. The global icon sold in over 100 countries has been chosen to foster awareness on a topic which knows no boundaries. The climax of the evening will be the donation of a New 500 Cabrio with white body, black top and burgundy Frau leather interiors. The car will be auctioned off and the winner will be given the opportunity to style a tailor-made customisation with the designers of Lapo Elkann's recently established Garage Italia Customs, which creates made-to-measure projects that express each customer's unique personality.

The car will fit a TwinAir 0.9 cm3 85 HP engine and Dualogic transmission. It has a fuel consumption of 3.8 litres/100km with emissions lower than 90 g/km of CO2 on the combined cycle: these remarkable results demonstrate the efficacy of the real, accessible technological solutions made available by Fiat to the general public to provide the very best in terms of benefits for the environment and running efficiency.  And once again, Fiat's commitment will extend the benefits deriving from scientific research as well.
