'Ritratti, Riflessi' exhibition of art and design at Leogalleries, Monza

Bartoli Design is one of the protagonists of “Ritratti, Riflessi” (Portrayts, Reflections), set up in the premises of Leogalleries, in Monza, from october 15th to november 14th.
The exhibition stages art and design, creating a real dialogue among the works: the intense and engaging faces, made with the powerful brushwork by artist Roberta Coni, are reflected with their searching gazes into the mirroring surfaces of design pieces by Bartoli Design, establishing a new artistic concept: the merging of the intuition of both actors of this show. Shaping the ideas by Bartoli Design is the crafting experience of the Laurameroni brand, headquartered in Alzate Brianza, capable of making materials expressive with investigation of innovative solutions.
Bartoli Design’s creativity, Roberta Coni’s poignancy, Laurameroni’s manufacturing skill and Leogalleries’ intuition, lead to a four-way dialogue expressing a moment of synthesis and suggestive artistic creation – the first episode of a research intended to investigate various issues through the combination of art and design.
In the “Ritratti, Riflessi” installation, Bartoli Design interprets the dialogue with art showing Cirque and Stars, abstract and iconic design works. Pieces in shiny mirroring sufarces reflect the deep and dense bruskwork of the displayed portraits, while other works’ full-black brushed geometrical surfaces, only send back a dim glow in contrast to the light-filled faces portrayed by Roberta Coni.
CIRQUE
Totem-like furniture, resembling essential architectures, with a major and sculptural impact, arousing a new and mysterious scenario. Their slanted poses create an unexpected atmosphere, a slight diso- rientation; when juxtaposed, similar to metaphysical objects they produce an effect of suspension. Cir- que are born in three sizes and come in bone-white and full-black brushed lacquers, in stainless steel mirror-polished finish and in two special editions: black and silver glass powder.
STARS
Geometrical pieces with strong visual impact, surfaces which are divided into sequences of increasing and decreassing rectangles, where the repetition of lines is inspired by Op Art and creates a close in- teraction with the observer. Fragments of shapes and glows of light are reflected or fade on the mirror- polished or soflty-brushed metallic sheets covering the Stars elements. Stainless steel, black steel, na- tural brass, natural and burnished copper bring glow and a tactile value to the products, highlighting Stars precious quality and matching the “coloured” walnut wood chosen for their inner equipment. Stars consists of a collection of furniture and architectural elements: cubes, side and dining tables, consolle, low and tall cabinets, wall panels and sliding doors.
