Diesel Living with Moroso @ Design Post Midsummer Event

On Thursday, June 27, Diesel Living and #moroso will be showcased at the #design Post’s Midsummer Event in Cologne, Germany. The exhibition will be held at #design Post's early 1900's-era industrial building, which houses showrooms for many major #design brands.

The event—with a DJ set by Olive starting from 6:00 PM—will feature new pieces that Diesel Living first launched at the Salone del Mobile, in Milan, Italy. This is the first time the pieces will be shown to the German market.

Diesel Living opened its space within the #design Post of Deutz-Mülheimer Street in Cologne last January; the showroom fully captures the collection's ethos, and is characterized by unexpected and ironic influences, combining classic and experimental styles to create something truly unique. Products from other brands under Diesel Living's roster—such as Scavolini, Foscarini, Iris and Seletti—are also exhibited at the space.

The Diesel Living with #moroso collection takes an ironic and unconventional #design approach. The result? Skillfully treated raw materials and contrasting shapes in a balanced blend of Moroso’s innovation-driven spirit and Diesel’s denim soul.

This year, on the occasion of the ten years of the collection, a new version of the iconic Nebula Nine sofa has been presented, along with the brand new AeroZeppelin modular sofa with its tables, and finally a new finish was introduced for the historic Perf collection.

Nebula Light is a re-styled version of the iconic Nebula Nine sofa in its most fundamental form. Whilst Nebula Light retains the soft, generous structure of its previous versions, this new sofa has had stitching from the seats, armrests and back cushions removed. The result? A much lighter and sleeker look.

The AeroZeppelin sofa, instead, was designed as a large “platform” frame, finished with compact and soft pillows that line its back and armrests. This leaves the user to interpret the sofa’s styling at will, according to his or her needs. The AeroZeppelin sofa, with its vintage and casual spirit, is a new and fresh solution for both domestic and public spaces.

Moreover, the AeroZeppelin tables feature bases inspired by the aluminium structures that are typical of airships, as well as silk-screen printed glass tops. These coffee tables interact perfectly with the AeroZeppelin sofa, underpinning the concept of “floatation.” This is achieved through the special silk-screen printing featured on the glass top’s surface, which creates a sophisticated interplay on texture, transparency and shade that recalls an aerial view of the clouds.

Finally, the Perf collection is decorated with the new, Broken Stripes finish: innovative liquid paint technology has made it possible to reproduce the pattern of an iconic Diesel jacquard fabric on the surface of the storage unit, giving this product a distinctively-Diesel identity and appeal.
