According to the decision of the competent authority, many of the characteristic cultural activities of Milan have been suspended, letting the city loosing his relationship with the public. But the best way to fight something which diffuses so fast is facing it with a passion which spreads even faster. The Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi knows that music is the most intangible art form. And this is her strength. Milan needs music, and at the Auditorium di Milano, even if his shutters are closed, people won’t stop doing it. Here, musicians asked themselves: how can we reach people, even if theater stalls are inaccessible? The answer: recording videos from laVerdi’s stage, with three different chamber groups. The Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi gets involved and deploys a String Quartet composed by Luca Santaniello, Lycia Viganò, Gabriele Mugnai and Tobia Scarpolini, a Harp Duo made by Elena Piva and Marta Pettoni and a Clarinet and Piano Duo, with Fausto Ghiazza and Simone Pedroni, with the aim of recording a video-trio for this unlucky occasion. As a proverb says: if the mountain will not go to Mahoma, Mahoma will go to the mountain. In this way #laverdi tries to reach her audience, understandably walled up inside their houses, but who never want to renounce to music. The Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi believes deeply in the function and the social role of music in a city like Milan, where the answer to social difficulties is always stronger. On Auditorium’s stage, three chamber groups will be filmed for the series #Lamusicanonsiferma (Music doesn’t stop). For Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi music will never stop. The whole city is facing big economical losses (just in the current week, #laverdi had to cancel seven concerts and all the activities of the Educational Project). “Consequences of this critical situation won’t be in the short-term. Anyway, this has to be a challenge for us to double our efforts to remember to the external world the incredible results that our city was able to reach in last years and the astonishing planning capability that we had”, says Ruben Jais, General and Artistic Director of the Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi.
