Take Care Project | eng

THE BACKGROUND2020 has been a year of radical personal restrictions for all of us. The aim of the “Take Care” project is to use a virtual thread to stitch back together some of the contacts that have inevitably worked loose as a result of this distancing. Our aim is to broadcast the voice of the art world, building a network made up of artists, curators, gallerists and professionals to enable them to communicate with each other and with the outside world. Keeping a contact and amplifying it with this invitation will be the way to circumvent distancing and try to reprogram the future, with the aim that this message manages to break out and expand beyond our country’s borders.PROJECTThe project does not envisage centralised curating and aims to achieve extensively democratic methods of participation: invitations will be generated by word of mouth. The first invitation will be based on the #fondazione107 mailing list: each artist will then invite another artist, in a chain that, we hope, will go viral. The invitation comprises the production of a piece of your own work on an anti-Covid facemask of the kind available in the shops, which may be made of fabric, plexiglas or any other material.

You can also make your own, if you prefer, using the means and materials that you consider to be the most suitable and closest to how you usually work. The only limits are that you should stick to the dimensions of commercially available facemasks and that your work has something to do with the protective facemask. You should sign your work on the rear and glue a label onto it containing your given name, surname and e-mail address and the title of your work. Then just put it in an envelope and send it to Fondazione 107 at this address:Fondazione 107 casella postale 117
presso MAIL BOXES ETC – MBE
Corso Francia n.238
10098 RIVOLI (TO) – ITALIAAt the same time, you will have to send us an image of your work to post on our site so that others can see it and vote for it. This involves sending us an image file (JPG max 2MB with a minimum resolution of 3500px on the long side). To do this, we ask you to use and fill in the form provided, which you will find at the end of this descriptionTIMINGYou can send your works and images from 20 December 2020 to 31 March 2021. The images will be uploaded to our website in chronological order as we receive them. As soon as the anti-Covid regulations allow, we shall all celebrate together with a major exhibition open to the general public hosted in the premises of #fondazione107.

VOTAZIONEThe polls will be open for voting from 1 April 2021 to 31 May 2021 and votes will be cast directly by those who visit the website. Every person shall be able to cast 1 vote for 1 work. A system will be in place to rule out the possibility of multiple voting. The artist who wins the public vote will have the chance to show his/her work in one of the spaces at #fondazione107 for the same period when all the other works will be on show that will have taken part in the project.Everyone is eligible to take part in the competition and there is absolutely no charge.By sending us the work you produce, you agree that it will become part of the #fondazione107 collection. You will also transfer the imaging rights in the work to #fondazione107 for any use it may make of its for reproduction and also potential commercial applications.AIMS AND OBJECTIVESThe Take Care project intends to be very participatory, as a way of testifying to our everyday experience. The aim is for us all to share our thinking about the challenges arising from living in these times that are so difficult for all of us, times of restrictions that bring the awareness that we must take care of ourselves, but also and above all of others, hence the project’s name: Take Care. Inviting an artist colleague will be the way to make them participants and at the same time inviting them to invite another colleague in their turn, and so on. Take Care also means casting off the focus on ourselves and extending our attention to encompass those who are around us, in a flow that aims to go truly viral.Thanking you in advance for your commitment and for taking part, we hope you will join in with this project, so that your invaluable involvement will enable the “Take Care” project to bring positive cross-fertilisation and stay with us as we move towards better times.
