The exhibition will remain open all summer, and from August 29, free guided tours will resume for adults, alongside the educational activities for children and families

Milan July 29, 2021. Furla Series – Misfits, the first solo exhibition in an Italian institution by the artist Nairy Baghramian, will remain open all summer, until September 26, 2021. Promoted by #fondazionefurla and GAM – Galleria d'Arte Moderna, the exhibition Misfits unfolds through both the inside and outside spaces of the museum, with an exhibition itinerary that starts from the rooms on the ground floor and continues across the adjacent terrace, looking onto the gardens of Villa Reale.

Starting from August 29, the rich calendar of free educational activities will resume with Imperfetto naturale (“Naturally Imperfect”), a #creative workshop guiding participants towards the discovery of the beauty of imperfection, both in nature and in art, starting from the narratives suggested by the works on display; Macchie senza macchia (e senza paura) (“Stainless (and fearless) stains”), offers a walk through Baghramian’s works and the park spaces, giving the cue to experiment with the possible “joins” between the forms of art and nature using watercolors and recycled materials; Natura imperfetta (“Imperfect nature”), a botanical treasure hunt that—amid “perfect” plants and “imperfect” leaves—attempts to solve the riddle posed by the sculptures on display.

Along with the workshops, guided tours for adults will also resume. Gli spazi dell’arte (“The Spaces of Art”) links history and contemporaneity as well as art and nature on a journey through the exhibition Misfits, the permanent collection of the GAM, and the English garden of Villa Reale (one of the most beautiful in Milan, normally off bounds to adults but visitable with us!).

On the occasion of Milan Art Week and miart, on Saturday September 18 we shall present Forme e parole erranti (“Wandering Forms and Words”): a reading in the gardens of nursery rhymes and poems associated with Baghramian’s sculptures, in search of the error as a possible source of creativity and growth.

Furla Series – #nairybaghramian. Misfits is the upshot of a #partnership between Fondazione Furla and GAM – Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Milan, with the generous contribution of Fondazione Henraux for the production of the works in marble.

The Furla Series, here at its third edition, is the program promoted by Fondazione Furla and staged in collaboration with Italy’s foremost museums.
