CAMBI CASA D’ASTE PRESENTS ‘CTMP Design Auction’

In September, the contemporary collectible #design auction dedicated exclusively to the XXI century presents 160 objects and furnishings signed by the best designers of the moment.

Among the big international artists and emerging talents waiting to be discovered, we are opening a window on the present and the future of #design, in a selection signed by Mr.Lawrence studio.

During the #design Week and the Art week some of the objects and furnishings will be shown in an exhibition set up in Milan, at the Cambi headquarters in via San Marco 22, open to the public from the 5^th to the 18^th of September 2021 

Milano, 20 July 2021 – Cambi Casa d’Aste in collaboration with the Milanese #design consultancy studio Mr. Lawrence presents an auction of collectible contemporary #design: CTMP #design Auction. 

For the first time in Milan, an extraordinary selection of internationally renowned designers such as Nendo, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Sabine Marcelis, India Mahdavi, Richard Hutten and Zaha Hadid, will be presented together with emerging talents such as Anna Aagaard Jensen, Diego Faivre and Tellurico in order to provide a complete picture of the contemporary and collectible #design panorama. A real cross-section of the moment, useful for those approaching the field for the first time as well as for enthusiasts and connoisseurs who will find unmissable gems in the rich and curated list of designers.

The auction will be held physically at the Cambi headquarters in Milan, but it will be possible to join the auction online and bid in real time on the website of the maison cambiaste.com and on various international partner sites, among them Invaluable, Live Auctioneers, Drouout Digital. At auction there will be presented a wide range of pieces - from vases to upholstery, from lamps to coat hangers, with an important focus on carpets. 

The selection of the pieces, exclusively produced in the 2000s, was made by the Milanese studio Mr. Lawrence. The aim is to take a closer look at the contemporary #design field while producing a digital (available on Cambi’s website) and paper catalogue that offers a point of reference on the international #design scene, becoming a useful catalogue raisonné concerning names, trends, the market and news. 

During the #design Week and the Art week some of the objects and furnishings will be shown in an exhibition set up in Milan, at the Cambi headquarters in via San Marco 22, open to the public from the 5^th to the 18^th of September 2021. 

In preview, from the 20^th of July, the Cambi windows will be filled with special displays including a site-specific project signed by Andrea Mancuso from Analogia Project. A point of view on the most innovative contemporary #design visible day and night in the heart of Brera. The setting will be made with the new colour palette by Jotun, presented for the first time on this occasion. 

The CTMP #design Auction includes four Capsule Collections signed by equally exceptional names. Maria Cristina Didero, an internationally renowned curator, has selected a dozen designers who are particularly close to her. The non-profit organization House of Today, based in Beirut, takes stock on the Lebanese #design with a selection of pieces by remarkable talents. The Milanese fashion brand Marsèll, active on the front of contemporary #design and research, expresses its unique point of view with a collection of objects by two designers worth discovering. WonderGlass, a brand that is writing the history of contemporary Venetian glass, presents some of the most extraordinary works ever produced in this material, with authors of the calibre of Nendo, Ross Lovegrove, India Mahdavi and Zaha Hadid.
