Bolzano, 27 October 2022. After the participatory residency with artist Otis Mensah, #museion Art Club, the cultural incubator for the development of contemporary culture in South Tyrol, presents #museion FACTORY SENSORIAL PERFORMING ART, a five-day participatory artist residency with two events open to the public, featuring Gabriel Hernandez Ladino from Teatro de Los Sentidos.
Museion is hosting #museion FACTORY SENSORIAL PERFORMING ART to invite a wide-ranging public to take part in a participatory experience involving various forms of bodily and linguistic expression.
Teatro de Los Sentidos promotes the development of methods that seek to animate a space and recreate it poetically, so the experience touches both the public – imaginantes – and the actor – inhabitant, as the company defines them.
From 4 to 8 November 2022 the workshop will create sensorial exercises to awaken in the participants’ creative capacities for poetic situations that originate from the memories hidden within their own bodies.
This is a workshop for having fun, discovering yourself through the eyes of others, learning the language of the senses and of theatre, and realizing that reality, even if it may not always be what it seems, can also be what you want it to be. It is a way of using smell, taste, and hearing to stimulate our dormant senses and discover things hidden in our bodies that we did not know we could do.
Within the framework of the participatory residency are two events that are open to the public: Saturday 5th November at 7 p.m.: ART & FOOD, a convivial #event in collaboration with Alma 9 and Federica Randazzo hosted by the Teatro de Los Sentidos, in which the participants will find themselves in a situation suspended in time. Dormant senses will be stimulated through sounds, scents, and colors to develop their expressive potential. As our bodies remember and these memories can be used to charge our present, construct our stories and make them even more our own.
Tuesday 8th November at 6 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., Teatro de Los Sentidos and participants of the residency will stage the #performance UNBOXING THE ART. This intimate #performance, involving all the participants in the residency, will see a maximum of 2-3 spectators at a time take part in the “sensorial mini-world” developed during the 5-day experience with the Teatro de Los Sentidos.
Teatro de Los Sentidos is a theatre company that explores the world of theatre and the language of the senses through immersive, experience-based theatre. Founded in Columbia and based in Barcelona, the group is headed by Gabriel Hernandez Ladino, who is the Director of the Teatro de Los Sentidos as well as an actor, teacher, and musician. The company investigates, explores, designs, and creates sensory experiences, as well as constructing labyrinths and intimate, poetic situations all over the world.
Museion Art Club is an incubator and amplifier that offers space, visibility, and networking to the local creative scene by generating independent interaction between the museum and drivers of urban change. Conceived by the #museion Art Club Forum, a group of nine young people from outside the institution who freely develop formats aimed at the public, its aim is to sustain and accelerate contemporary culture in the South Tyrol.
