Moto&Vibes - The works of Thomas Heller on show at EICMA 2022

Thomas Heller will present at Stand 76 in Hall 9 some of his works from "Moto&Vibes" collection, a series of paintings inspired by the vibrations of engines.

Milan, 7/11/2022 – With his expressionist style, #thomasheller represents in the works of the "Moto&Vibes" collection the energy and emotions transmitted by his #moto Guzzi Audace, capturing the simple joy of looking at beautiful motorbikes and transforming the perceived "vibrations" into timeless works of art. Paintings and installations that immediately arouse the dynamism of the two wheels and fix the uniqueness of the subjects with the author's strong subjectivism, representing Thomas's own creative interiority.

Vibrant colours and strong strokes are the elements that characterise Thomas Heller's works. His language is shaped in the incisive brushstrokes with which he paints, almost assaulting the canvas laid on the floor of his studio in Milan. In this powerful and instinctive gestural expressiveness, the artist gives substance to his emotions and moods, transfiguring external reality to visualise his inner reality.

It matters little if the visible result does not correspond to the real datum: what matters to the artist is to liberate emotionality and creativity, breaking free from the limits of depiction to arrive at transfiguration and abstraction. This is also the case when figures or human details - an eye, a hand - and objects such as shoes appear amidst the tangle of signs, drawings and colour fields, and the meaning is deeper because, going beyond immediate perception, it is loaded with references, meanings and symbols, becoming a metaphor for something else.

In the works of the "Moto&Vibes" series, engines with their technical details, the frame, wheels, headlights and accessories such as helmets, goggles and gloves seem to come out of the canvas animated with a life of their own.

“Moto&Vibes”
The "Moto&Vibes" collection consists of over thirty canvases and two sculptures (“Thumb” and “Tank with Eye and Hand”) inspired by the world of two wheels. The most obvious references on Thomas Heller's canvases are to the Vespa and #moto Guzzi, with subjects reinterpreted by the author through his highly personal expressionism. The canvases are small (approx. 30x40 cm), medium (100x100 cm) and large (150x180 cm) in size and will be accompanied by some A4/A2 digital prints and the pencil sketches on Moleskine sheets on which Thomas initially fixes the emotions that inspire all his works.
