The Hermitage will begin accepting visitors again from the 15 July! In accordance with the sanitary norms that we have to follow, entry to the museum will be restricted, and movement inside will be regulated. Visits to the museum will be organized by time slots, and there will be several entry and exit points. We are also obliged to limit a visitor’s stay in the museum to two hours.

Visitors will be restricted to certain fixed routes that are currently being devised by our specialists. Those routes will help visitors to spend their allotted time to maximum effect – they all allow people to acquaint themselves with the Hermitage’s collections and its masterpieces, but each have a different emphasis.

Access to the museum will be by electronic tickets. All visitors – and, of course, the museum staff too – will have to wear masks and gloves and to adhere to the required distancing.

The Hermitage is open to suggestions on adjustments to the temporary visiting arrangements – they can be submitted through the museum’s social media. Depending on how the broader situation develops, we will be changing the arrangements roughly once every two weeks.

We hope that all these innovations will no longer be in place by December. We are counting on bidding farewell to the temporary restrictions before we mark Orthodox Saint Catherine’s Day – the Day of the Hermitage.

For the latest information about reopening to visitors, follow the museum’s website and social network pages.
