Il nostro autunno fotografico
MOSTRE D'AUTUNNO
Siamo felici di annunciare che stiamo lavorando alla produzione di due mostre per questo autunno; è un'occasione per riprendere progetti, ricerche e relazioni che sono nati durante la preparazione della XV edizione di #fotografiaeuropea e tenervi compagnia in previsione dell'edizione 2021.
Dal 17 ottobre 2020 al 10 gennaio 2021 sarà possibile visitare TRUE FICTIONS – AI CONFINI DELLA REALTÀ a Palazzo Magnani e ATLANTI, RITRATTI E ALTRE STORIE - 6 GIOVANI FOTOGRAFI a Palazzo da Mosto.
Cogliamo l'occasione per ringraziarvi ancora una volta dell'affetto e della vicinanza che ci avete dimostrato in questi mesi, come vedete non possiamo stare tanto tempo senza di voi... vi aspettiamo a Reggio Emilia a ottobre (finger crossed)!
We are happy to announce that we are working on two exhibitions for this autumn; it's an opportunity to resume projects, research and relationships
begun during preparations for the XV edition of #fotografia EUROPEA
and to accompany the public at the 2021 festival.
From October 17, 2020 to January 10, 2021 it will be possible to visit TRUE FICTIONS - AT THE EDGE OF REALITY and ATLASES, PORTRAITS AND OTHER STORIES - 6 YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHERS.
We want to thank you once again for the affection and closeness that you have shown us in recent months, as you see we can not stay long without you ... we are waiting for you in Reggio Emilia in October (finger crossed)!
TRUE FICTIONS - AI CONFINI DELLA REALTA'
Prima #mostra retrospettiva mai realizzata in Italia sul fenomeno della staged photography, la tendenza che a partire dagli anni '80 ha rivoluzionato il linguaggio fotografico e la collocazione della #fotografia nell'ambito delle arti contemporanee. Le stanze di Palazzo Magnani saranno invase da pesci rossi, cascate di ghiaccio nei deserti, città inventate, immagini di Marilyn Monroe e Lady D. che fanno la spesa insieme.
Fra gli autori presenti in #mostra i precursori e maestri di questo genere come Jeff Wall, Cindy Sherman, James Casebere, Sandy Skoglund, Yasumasa Morimura, Laurie Simmons, David Lachapelle, i protagonisti della prima ora raramente visti in Italia come Bernard Faucon, Eileen Cowin, Bruce Charlesworth, David Levinthal fino ad arrivare a giovani, ma ormai affermati, come Paolo Ventura, Lori Nix, Miwa Yanagi, Alison Jackson, Alekasandr Petlura, Jung Yeondoo, Jiang Pengyi.
Sarà il regno della fantasia!
TRUE FICTIONS – AT THE EDGE OF REALITY is the first retrospective exhibition ever held in Italy of staged photography, a genre that has revolutionised the language of photography since the 1980s and its place among the contemporary arts.
The photographers in the exhibition range from precursors of the genre and great masters such as Jeff Wall, Cindy Sherman, James Casebere, Sandy Skoglund, Yasumasa Morimura, Laurie Simmons, David Lachapelle, to the earliest exponents, rarely seen in Italy, among them Bernard Faucon, Eileen Cowin and Bruce Charlesworth, and, finally, young, but already established figures, including Paolo Ventura, Lori Nix, Miwa Yanagi, Alison Jackson, Alekasandr Petlura, Jung Yeondoo and Jiang Pengyi.
ATLANTI, RITRATTI E ALTRE STORIE
La collettiva che raccoglie le personali dei tre vincitori della nostra open call, a cui si aggiungono altri tre progetti selezionati dalla giuria composta da Walter Guadagnini, Maria Pia Bernardoni, Oliva Maria Rubio.
Abbiamo scelto di ampliare lo spazio dedicato ai giovani artisti, per approfondire, attraverso lo sguardo della #fotografia contemporanea, il tema delle fantasie e delle narrazioni, in un momento storico in cui la proiezione verso il futuro si fa necessaria.
Alessandra Baldoni con Atlas una mappa di analogie per immagini in dittici e trittici; Alexia Fiasco con The Denial accompagna il pubblico in un viaggio fotografico alla scoperta delle proprie origini; Francesco Merlini con Valparaiso attiva un confronto tra le proprie memorie familiari e i luoghi dell'infanzia; Manon Lanjouère con Laboratory of Universe, #mostra una serie di immagini che raccontano l'origine dell'Universo; Giaime Meloni con Das Unheimliche rappresenta una metafora sulla condizione dell'abitare contemporaneo; Denisse Ariana Pérez con Albinism, Albinism II, presenta una serie che cattura la bellezza dei ragazzi nati con l'albinismo.

ATLASES, PORTRAITS AND OTHER STORIES: 6 Young European Photographers brings together the solo shows of the three winners of our open call, which are joined by three other projects selected by the jury composed of Walter Guadagnini, Maria Pia Bernardoni and Oliva Maria Rubio.
The decision to expand the space devoted to young artists is prompted by the desire to use contemporary photography to explore the theme of fantasies and narratives at an historical moment when a focus on the future is necessary.
| Alessandra Baldoni presents Atlas, a map of analogies for images in diptychs and triptychs; Alexia Fiasco presents The Denial, which accompanies the public on a photographic journey to discover their origins; Francesco Merlin uses Valparaiso to activate a comparison between his family memories and childhood places; Manon Lanjouère presents Laboratory of the Universe, a series of images that narrate the origin of the universe; Giaime Meloni presents Das Unheimliche, a metaphor on the state of contemporary living; and Denisse Ariana Pérez presents Albinism, Albinism II, a series that captures the beauty of young men born with albinism. |
