NEW YORK, March 30, 2022—Gagosian's Artist Spotlight—an #online series that focuses on an individual artist for one week each month—is pleased to present a new sculpture by #tatianatrouve. The featured work will be revealed at gagosian.com on April 8 and available exclusively #online for forty-eight hours.

Trouvé explores themes of matter, memory, fiction, and time in drawings, sculptures, and site-specific installations, assembling elaborate mise-en-scènes that resist singular interpretation. She meticulously re-creates common objects and materials—chairs, shoes, bags, mattresses, rope, cardboard, wildflowers, and books—in mediums that include stone, bronze, copper, and concrete. Oscillating between the familiar and the disquieting, her works' disorienting juxtapositions place the viewer, in Trouvé's words, "on the threshold of a physical and mental experience."

Artist Spotlight: #tatianatrouve features a recent sculpture by the artist in patinated bronze, paint, marble, and painted alabaster. Embodying both presence and absence, this materially rich and psychologically evocative work prompts us to appreciate life's micro-events and unanticipated narratives. On April 6, a conversation between Trouvé and leading archaeologist and curator of paleolithic art #jeanmichelgeneste, in which they discuss the conceptual, material, and temporal paradoxes of Trouvé's practice, will debut in #gagosianquarterly.

Le grand atlas de la désorientation, a major solo exhibition of Trouvé's work focusing principally on her drawing practice, will be held at the #centrepompidou, #Paris, from June 8 through August 22, 2022. The museum will publish a comprehensive catalogue of her drawings and studies, with essays by exhibition curator #jeanpierrecriqui and #laurahoptman, executive director of the Drawing Center, New York. The Pompidou exhibition will coincide with an exhibition of Trouvé's work in Gagosian's space at 9 rue de Castiglione, #Paris, from June 8 through September 3, 2022.

Artist Spotlight is a dynamic platform that enables artists to present their work in the #digital realm, sharing their stories with a global audience #online. The series, which launched in April 2020 and is now in its third season, is presented once a month as a regular part of Gagosian's programming. Each installment highlights the work of an individual artist through new editorial features and archival content, and new work is made available with pricing information for forty-eight hours only.
