International Kids’ Carnival - Restored Films series

The 14th International Kids' Carnival will take place from Saturday 11 to Sunday 19 February. The traditional venue at Ca' Giustinian (San Marco 1364/A) in Venice will host the creative workshops for schools on weekdays from 13-17 February, 10 am to 4 pm; and for families on Saturdays and Sundays, 11-12 and 18-19 February, 11 am to 6 pm. The Kids' Carnival, thanks to the collaboration with the City of Venice, will branch out to Mestre this year, to the Centro Civico in Parco Albanese (Bissuola) with a new musical section featuring concerts and workshops for schools and families in the spaces of CIMM (Centre for Computer Music and Multimedia) of La Biennale di Venezia.
The creative workshops and all other activities in the programme are free – with reservation required.

THE PROGRAMME IN VENICE AND MESTRE

VENICE: in the La Biennale headquarters at Ca' Giustinian, workshops will be held from 11 to 19 February. They will include Dance Workshops (Sala delle Colonne), Music Workshops (Sala Maschere and Sala Commedie), Hands-on Artistic Workshops (Sala delle Colonne and Portego), and Scientific-Technological Workshops (Laboratorio delle Arti, Calle del Ridotto), organized as follows:
On weekdays (13-17 February) for schoolchildren, organized into three sessions beginning at 9:45 am, 12:15 pm and 2:30 pm;
On weekends (11-12 and 18-19 February) for families, organized into three sessions beginning at 11 am, 3 pm and 4 pm.
MESTRE: the new musical section will be held in #mestre in the spaces of CIMM (Centre for Computer Music and Multimedia) of La Biennale and in the Educational Room (at 9:45 am, 12:15 pm, 2:30 pm), in the Centro Civico complex in Parco Albanese. In addition to the workshops, the musical section will also feature two concert/workshops dedicated to families and young children at the #teatro del Parco Albanese, on Sunday 12 and Sunday 19 February starting at 4 pm.

Fourth edition of the film series Classici fuori #mostra. Permanent Festival of Restored Films, organized by La Biennale di Venezia in collaboration with the City of Venice's Circuito Cinema and the professors of film studies at the Università Ca' Foscari in Venice and the Università IUAV in Venice.
The programme will present at the Cinema Rossini in Venice ten film classics recently restored by the major film libraries around the world, in the original language version with subtitles in Italian. Each film will be introduced by an expert and followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.
The series kicks off on Thursday 2 March at 7 pm featuring Il conformista (1970) by Bernardo Bertolucci, starring Jean-Louis Trintignant, Stefania Sandrelli, Dominique Sanda, and Pierre Clémenti. Screenings will then continue every Wednesday from 8 March until 17 May.
